Established in the year 1983 our department has made name and fame in the entire North Karnataka by excelling both in Academics and extra curricular activities. The Computer Science and Engg. Department is housed in a building constructed in an area of 300 sq. meter. With the Computer centre, hardware laboratory and staff room since the inception.
The department is approved by AICTE and got accredited in the year 2004 for 3 years. Ours is the first polytechnic in the entire Karnataka that is accredited.. The details of the approval are furnished herewith.

We are facilitated with well-trained, experienced and excellent almost Post Graduate faculties, who have enabled us to be specialized in various regular academic and corporate training programs.
Area(s) in which the Department has achieved excellence
- Our Department got Accredited by NBA in the year 2004.
- We have accreditation (1990-191) from DOE and CSI.. We have trained 3 batches of students for ‘O’ level course and proved ourselves a better lot as far as examination performance is concerned.
- We have conducted various courses under Community Polytechnic so as to help unorganized sectors.
- Since last five years under Govt. of Karnataka, CEC and CCTEK we have been conducting with minimum fees various courses on Computer Awareness, Foundation Courses, C programming, VB programming.
- The short-term courses on computer languages such as MS Office, Fortran, C, C++, Unix are conducted for students of other departments and also to the students of the JSS sister concern institutes.
- Our Department proved to be the best among other college’s Computer Science Department of the entire Karnataka state by securing 1 to 3 ranks every year since the inception of the Department.
- We have conducted various staff development programs to train our own staff members and outsiders under the auspicious of CIICP and CCTEK. We are also conducting them higher-end training programs every six months to enable our own students top develop software projects and customize them to the tailored requirements.
The Department of Computer Science has been established in the year 1983, when there were no official Computer Science courses in the conventional education system. The department has the privilege of being the first of its kind in entire nation due to the revision of the policies of ministry of Human Resource (HRD) Govt of India in the year 1982.
